Day 34 of Giving

So it was Chinese New Year. Since I'm Chinese, naturally, I follow a ton of superstitions around the holiday. For example, no washing your hair on Chinese New Year day. It washes your luck away, you see. And every holiday, we wish our parents a Happy New Year and magically, we get this red envelope with money in it!

The custom is that if you're married, you give a red envelope (or lucky money) to those single younger people in your life. And of course, your children too. We gave away a few envelopes that night.

Including this one:

Along with a bit of lucky money was a note saying they were a recipient of a random act of kindness, and asked them to pay it forward. We left it on a windshield of a car. Hoped the stranger enjoyed the pleasant surprise!
